Information

Rin Rin 🡢 This project revives the original Old Style No. 1, first seen in the mid-18th century and part of the Transitional period. Typefaces in this category bridge the gap between Old Style and Neoclassical designs, characterized by a vertical or near-vertical stress, more pronounced contrast between thins and thicks, and generally more horizontal head serifs. Old Style No. 1 was initially designed by Alexander Phemister in 1829 during his tenure at Miller and Richards in Edinburgh, Scotland. The goal of this project is to expand upon the original design by creating additional weights and styles, enhancing its versatility and performance across both print and digital formats.
